2015 Pinot Noir

2015 Pinot Noir
2015 Pinot Noir
Nose (aromas): cherry cola, fresh earth, violet, sweet wood, cinnamon stick
Flavor (palette): wild strawberry, light toast, baking spice, and red plum
Winemaker's Notes: This wine is elegant and pretty, with a lingering finish
and light tannins. While young, this year’s wine has an “old soul” that, given even a little
more time to age, will happily reward you. Excellent pairings with Pinot include plank grilled
salmon, wild mushroom risotto, duck breast, coq au vin, even classic Boeuf Bourguignon.
As far as cheeses go, try blue cheese, gouda, brie, gruyere and goat cheese. Bring it!
Ageing Potential: Now-2022+
Additional Info: Riverbench Vineyard is a 40-year old Pinot Noir and Chardonnay vineyard, situated in Foxen Canyon of the Santa Maria Valley. We believe that our Pinot Noir accurately represents the SMV by showcasing a more “earth” and “cola” driven style (in comparison to bright fruit), complete with baking spices (in comparison to black/white pepper). Riverbench, alike Sta. Rita Hills, hugs an old riverbed, with a direct connection to the ocean. This means fog blankets and a bit of cool ocean breeze, a perfect match for a Burgundian micro climate!
